Apptimize
Aug 14, 2014
Mobile A/B testing really has never been easier. Apptimize now automatically imports events from your existing analytics API without any work whatsoever. New A/B tests can now use the events you already track in Mixpanel (or Flurry, Google Analytics… or even an internally developed API) automatically.
Here is a screenshot of what the metrics page looks like with an app that’s already tracking a few events in Flurry and Google Analytics.
The events are imported automatically. I didn’t have to do anything other than install the Apptimize SDK to see these events. Now, I can use these events for my A/B test. If I were to create a new experiment to see if a different image would impact how often users clicked on a daily promotion, I simply toggle the relevant metrics on and now this test is tracking those events. No development needed.
1. You can compare your A/B testing results to your existing analytics results easily. Before, getting an apples to apples comparison was difficult with multiple sources of data, but now you can do it without even programming or planning much ahead.
2. You no longer have to rebuild all your app events just for A/B tests. All your analytics events will already be in the Apptimize dashboard for you to use. You don’t have to agonize over which metrics to create. You simply select the metrics you want from a preexisting list.
3. You can track complex events on the fly, without waiting for app store approvals. Say I have a new Visual Apptimizer test that needs to track complex events that had taken a developer days to set up. I can now leverage that pre-existing tracking mechanism and deploy this new test in real-time, without waiting for app store approvals.
